The pamphlet was intended to be used as a study and discussion guide for classroom teachers to use alongside viewing Queen, a television mini-series documenting the life of Haley's grandmother.
Alexander Family Genealogical Sketch
In this photocopied genealogical sketch, J. G. M. Ramsey traces the Alexander family's genealogy from Sir William Alexander (the first of the family to settle in the United States) to his granddaughter, Rhody (Alexander) Rodgers and her immediate family. Ramsey was related to the Alexanders through his father, who was William Alexander's great-grandson.

Clint Douglass in Lebanon, Tenn., Alfred William Douglass writes of the increase in students enrolled at his school, his desire that Clint remain another year in law school, and his dislike of life in the city. He also notes that there is no alarm here about cholera, though there are some deaths nearly every day.
